Bat Removal

Are bats damaging your home and property? EcoCare Pest Control specializes in safely removing and controlling bat infestations in Portland and Vancouver area homes.

Whether they’re in your attic, chimney, or swarming your home, bats are a big nuisance in the Portland and Vancouver areas! Not only are bat infestations inconvenient, they can be dangerous. According to the Center for Disease Control, 90% of rabies cases in the United States are due to contact with bats.

Diseases aren’t the only issue, either! Bats also leave feces and other waste, decreasing air quality and leaving a horrible smell throughout your home. They can also damage your roof, siding, and insulation when gaining access to your home, inflicting serious and costly damage.

Protect your home and family by taking care of any bat infestations immediately with preventative and environmentally-friendly methods. EcoCare’s bat removal and control team is here to help.

Our Approach to Bat Removal & Control

1. Property Inspection & Analysis

The first thing our certified Portland bat control team will do is perform a thorough inspection of your home to assess existing damage and look for any unnoticed problems. We’ll also inspect your home’s exterior to search for bat access points such as holes in your roof, siding, or attic.

Once we’ve diagnosed the issue, we’ll explain our findings and design a bat control and prevention plan that will actually work.

2. Exclusion

If bats are making their way into your home, we’ll seal off all points of entry to prevent future access. Our bat control team is extremely thorough and never leaves anything to chance. If your home requires a large technical repair, we’ll call our partner construction company to perform the necessary work.

3. Careful Bat Extermination

Our Portland bat control team will utilize a series of professional traps and other safe capture methods to get the bats off your home and property. For instance, we install a one-way “BatCone” that allows Bats to leave, but not re-enter. These targeted bat control methods are highly effective and safe for your entire family (even your pets!)

Inspect. Exclude. Exterminate. Our experienced Portland and Vancouver exterminators make bat removal safe and simple!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you remove bats all year round?
Bats are protected by law during their nesting and mating seasons, so we are not able to remove them during that particular season. If you suspect you have a bat problem and need a Portland exterminator, let us know and we can discuss your bat removal options.

How do you get rid of the bats in my attic?
We utilize a special device called a “BatCone” which is a one-way door allowing Bats to leave, but not re-enter. Once we ensure all Bats have left the attic (or the enclosed space they’re using), we can move forward with the exclusion work to permanently seal up the opening and prevent future entry.

Do you offer bat control services near me?
Our friendly and professional bat exterminators work throughout the Portland and Vancouver metro areas. Contact us and we’ll come out to your home and in most cases offer you a free, no-obligation quote.

What attracts bats to my home?
Bats are drawn to residential homes due to houses and attics providing a safe environment with a stable temperature for them to live in, mate, and raise their young. Generally they will get into your home through an accessible hole that may exist in your siding or roof. Even the smallest of holes can provide an excellent entry-way into your attic, leading to the development of a colony and a major bat infestation!

Can bats hurt my pets?
Yes! The CDC estimates that 6% of bats have rabies, meaning that a bat bite on a pet can be fatal. While bats will generally be afraid of humans, they may feel more comfortable around a dog or cat, making them particularly vulnerable.

Do you do all your prevention and bat damage repairs in-house?
Our own technicians perform almost all of our bat prevention and extermination work. When further expertise is needed, we’ll partner with our experienced sister construction company to make sure the job is done right. The one exception to this is electrical damage, which we’ll subcontract since it requires a special license and expertise.
